EcoMonday: Insulation from old clothes?

Did you know that old jeans can be repurposed into building insulation?

You've worn in your fave jeans and outgrown/donated them to a thirft store. If they don't get a new home, they can be recycled into insulation. Repurposing rocks! Read the whole article here.

Saturday Search: Handmade Soap

I recently bought some of this rosemary soap at a show as a gift for a friend. On the way home, it made my whole car smell so good!

It was almost difficult to wrap up the soap as a gift for someone else because I totally wanted to keep it. I guess that makes it a good gift, right?

Check out the other soap creations at wherewatersomesdown.

Glasses are coming back into fashion again -- especially the retro ones. Check out all the fun vintage eye wear in thelostfound shop on Etsy. Buying new old stock is way more earth friendly than buying new new stock. And with fun styles like these -- who wants wants the new new ones?

Hoop It Up!

I recently took a couple Hula Hoop classes through Hip Hazel Hoops. It was so much fun that I may have to sign up for a few more. If you're in the DFW area and looking for a fun new work out, you have to check it out -- they're based in the South Side on Lamar building.

I went to the classes a total beginner and about laughed myself silly but learned all kinds of fun moves. New ways to work arms. legs, ham strings, shoulders, and waist. Hooping looks deceptively simple but it really is a good workout.

Have you hooped today?

EcoMonday: Upcycled Cardboard Stock

Check out these great business cards from Vintage Script Press -- they're made from recycled packing like cereal boxes, tissue boxes and frozen food packaging. They're printed using a letterpress. I love this kinda of repurposing.

What kind of repurposing do you do regularly?
