Eco Monday: Berry Paper

I stalked this beautiful paper in the shop of SimplyInviting Cards for a while and finally purchased it along with a couple other sheets. It's so pretty, I'm having a hard time deciding what to make with it! It has a teeny bit on twinkle to it and is just lovely!

Eco Monday: Candy Wrapper Headband

Check out this fun tootsie roll wrapper headband from my shop.

It's made from reclaimed Tootsie Roll Wrappers and elastic. The waxy paper is very durable and stands up to wear and tear while the elastic will make sure it stays on your head to show the whole world how green your are -- right down to your hair accessories.

Today my garland is being featured by Heather on the Scrappy Design Blog! I'm so excited! Check it out, it's a fun blog with lots to share. Garland of all kinds seem really popular this year. They are a great way to decorate for the holidays and add a splash of color in any room to that needs one. For the most part they are reusable year after year -- yay!

What's in your mailbox?

I love paper and recycling. So, here's my latest little pouch made from the security envelopes that have arrived in my mail box for the past few weeks. I love the way all the different patterns look together - I had no idea there were that many security patterns or that I got so many in less than a month!

What do you recycle at home in an unusual way?

One day isn't enough for ... Earth Day!

The more and more I learn about how much small changes can help the earth -- the sillier it seems to not incoporate those little changes into everyday life. I came across a great blog today (Team Eco-Etsy) that has a fabulous tutorial on making inner envelopes out of magazine ad catalog pages.

Check it out and start repurposing your magazines and junk mail -- it's easy! I can't wait to try this!

What I've been working on...

So by now you know of my obsession with folding paper. I've been busy, when not at work, folding assembling and experimenting with paper. The latest creation is a 5" x 7" pouch made from repurposed magazines, lined with cotton fabric with a zipper and the outside is sealed with a water based sealant. I have been test driving this one in my purse as a makeup bag and it has held up REALLY well. My compact is peeking out to give a sense of the actual size.

Please tell me what you think and what you would expect to pay for something like this at an arts and crafts fair. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks fellow Crafties!

This picture of squashed cans made me wonder what else I can recycle. I took a look around my home and found two more things I can regularly recycle. I encourage you to do the same.
